The Romanian Real Estate Market Is Growing

Eastern European countries are becoming increasingly attractive destinations for business and real estate investment. Among them, Romania stands out as one of the most promising markets. Favorable tax policies compared with Western European countries, the sense of freedom that can be felt as soon as you arrive in Romania, and, above all, the country’s nature, history, and culture have contributed to its growing appeal among investors.

Romania also offers a well-balanced real estate market in terms of property prices, which can contribute to relatively fast returns on investment.

For example, consider the purchase of a two-room apartment in Bucharest for €95,000 at the construction stage. By the time the building is completed and commissioned, the property price may increase by around 30%. The apartment can then be rented out for approximately €500–€650 per month, further increasing the potential return on investment.

It is also worth noting that most apartments and houses in Romania are delivered with finished interiors, meaning that buyers generally only need to purchase furniture and appliances.

Real estate in popular tourist cities can be even more attractive. Constanța, for example, is a seaside city where rental properties can generate significantly higher returns during the tourist season. Brașov, on the other hand, is less affected by seasonality, as the city has several major tourism drivers: a ski resort, mountains, a historic city center, and numerous leisure and entertainment areas. This creates opportunities for rental income throughout the year.

The Romanian real estate market continues to develop, creating new opportunities for investors. For those looking to diversify and potentially grow their capital, Romania remains a market worth considering.
